Getting Serious!

Well, today is the TIME TO GET SERIOUS day! I have been good about the diet part so far- even with my  Hubby Jeff being sneaky to sabbotage me (bringing home candt & french fries), I have managed to pretty much stick to low-carb. Now it is time to kick in the exercise!

So, starting today I am going to get in 20 minutes of aerobic exercise 5 days a week! I don’t care if I get it in all in one session of if I split it up into two 10 minute sessions per day. The plan for today is to jump on the elliptical! Tommorrow it will be dance!

Also, today I will be filling a bottle with water & trying to get in at least 60 ounces. That will be a feat for me since I drink like NO water (I detest the taste) but, I’ve got to wean myself off of diet sodas, the sodium isn’t good for the edema I have in my legs!

So, everyone, if you see me slipping- GIVE ME A BIG KICK IN THE REAR! LOL, sometimes I need it LOL

Remember you ARE worth all effort to reach where you want to be! Together- we can do it!

UPDATE: I just got off of the elliptical machine! I did 15 minutes instead of 10! And, I have my water bottle in front of me right now! Now to go figure out what I want for breakfast- not loving eggs right now.

I FEEL SO GOOD! I can’t believe I did 15 minutes instead of 10! WOOHOOOOOOO- GO ME!

Feeling Great Today!

Well,

After drinking a bottle of Chardonnay and getting a full-nights sleep I woke up this morning feeling 100% better! I know, I know…. drinking the wine isn’t the best thing for my diet but….it is my one guilty pleasure I allow myself- 2 bottles a week. And, chardonnay IS low-carb! LOL

I woke up to ham & eggs for brunch (I didn’t get up until 11 am) and diet Mt. Dew. So far- the diet part hasn’t been the big challenge- it has been getting my big arse off the couch & moving LOL.

Monday I will start 20 minutes a day of aerobics. I will either get on the elliptical machine or do aerobic dance (which is a FAVORITE of mine). That is how I lost weight before- I would pop in a CD with some great, upbeat music (Will Smith was a favorite) and danced for 30 to 45 minutes! I dropped 70 lbs in less than a year that way before! And after I lose down to 150 lbs. I will start belly-dancing to firm up my abs! I want to get a nice flat stomach this time (which may be impossible after 5 children, 4 of which were c-sections) but belly dancing is GREAT for the abs PLUS it teaches some wickedly sexy dance moves to impress the Hubby!

Thats the plan for now! LOL

Not a Good Day Yesterday!

Yesterday was a bad diet day! I was feeling so tired! So I slept a lot. Then my Hubby-Jeff decided to bring home chicken sandwiches & fries for dinner! So, I ate the chicken-gave him the fries and had tea with splenda. Breakfast & lunch aren’t hard for me at all since I am home alone- it’s Dinner time eating with the family! It’s a dreary day- the kind that makes you want to curl up with a good book and read or nap. I gotta get off my butt & get on the elliptical for at least 15 minutes today! So, getting off-line now & going to work out while I have the urge to get it done- LOL

Good luck today everyone!

Beginning Again

Well, here I am, starting this path again. Hoping this time to get it right and to make it permanent! After loosing from a size 16 to a size 5 a few years ago and keeping it off for a few years, the weight slowly came back on and I am back where I started- not a good feeling!

Last time I used slim-fast, excessive exercise & strong diet pills to do the trick. Now I cannot get those diet pills (ephedra) and even though I have an elliptical machine sitting in my bedroom, I haven’t been on it in months. And now, after developing PCOS, the doctor wants me to use a low-carb diet to not only loose weight but to prevent or slow-down diabetes. Staying on low-carb is SO hard for me! I cook daily for the whole family and my Hubby is a meat & potaoes & bread type of guy! And he likes things from scratch- not store bought! But I know that it is best for me to follow the doctor’s advice. I just have to find a way to cook what they love and not taste it during cooking LOL!

And I have to find the modivation to get back on the elliptical machine! I’ll take it one day at a time and not be too hard on myself. I hope to get it right this time around ;o)

And THANKS APRIL for directing me to BuddySlim!
