Weigh-In Day Again ;o)

Well, this week wasn’t a good one. I had a migraine three days straight this week and didn’t get my exercise in, didn’t eat much on those days either. Maybe that is why I lost the 1.5 lbs I did! Well, I’m not going to complain- a 1.5 lb weight loss is better than nothing and I’ll take what I can get! LOL

How is everyone else doing this past week?

Weigh-In Day!

Well, I was really nervous about getting on the scale this morning. I just didn ‘t feel like I had lost anything and my legs are swelled really bad. But, I got on there I closed my eyes. After peeking I saw that I am down to 186 lbs! That is another 3 lbs this week! Now I am feeling so much better.

I did change it up a little this week and started using slim-fast for 2 meals. I think I will stick to it for another week or two.

Remember we can do this together!

A New Week!

Well, I weighed-in on Saturday and had lost another 2 lbs! WOOHOOOOO! I didn’t think I had lost anything! So I am down a total of 14 lbs since Jan 30th.

This week I will be switching things up a bit. I will be using slim-fast shakes to substitute 2 meals daily along with snacks and a good dinner. I had previously lost 70 lbs in a year by swtiching things up this way- and kept it off for 4-5 years. (Of course I quit exercising & it all came back on again). I’ll switch back to low-carb in a few weeks to shock my body again. This method seems to work for me very well.

I am up-ing my elliptical to 30 minutes at day this week. Plus I will be doing a lot of yard-work! I have 9 flower beds that have to be cleaned & re-mulched. One of which I will be digging up completely (of course it HAS to be the biggest bed- my rose bed). I am sure that I will be a little sore this week! LMAO

I want to thank everyone for keeping me motivated! And, if I can do it, ANYONE can (yes, that means you too)!

I’m BACK!

I know, I know, BAD me! (Slapping my own hands). I haven’t  been on in over a week! Between the kiddes with a stomach virus & myself also getting it. I just haven’t had that much to post!

Yes, I HAVE been sticking to my diet & getting in 25 minutes a day on my elliptical machine 5 days a week. But I feel like I should have MORE to post in order to have a blog entry.

Then April pointed out that just the fact that I AM sticking to it may inpire someone else to do so. I never thought of it that way! I thought I should have EXCITING news to post, not just that I am following the diet and fitness program.  So, I am vowing to post at least 3 days a week- no matter if it is boring or not!

So, be prepared to read a lot of BORING entries from me-LOL- my life just isn’t that exciting! But, If I can inspire someone to better themselves by writing about my days- I will be gald to do so!

OMG! I DID IT!

Well, I decided to get on the scale this morning, not expecting to loose more than 2 or 3 pounds! Well, It said 195! Thats 8 lbs. down in 12 days! I am SO surprised! I am SO happy! I know I am doing the right things! GO ME!

Now, I do not expect to lose that much all the time, I am realistic. I am aiming for 8 lbs a month but I’ll take more if I can get it!

This week I am adding another 5 minutes to my morning elliptical sessions so now I am up to 25 minutes - 5 days a week. I am going to stay at 20 grams of carbs a day or less for now since it is working so well. Later on, I will add a few grams back as I get closer to my mid-way goal to see what happens!

My ULTIMATE goal is to be between 135 and 145 lbs by the end of the year. Being 5′3″ that will be a good, healthy weight for me I think.

So, I am definately on my way there! Remember everyone, if I can do it, anyone can- believe me! LOL Everyone keep up the good work & remember that you ARE worth making yourself happy!

The Past Few Days

Well, I haven’t been on in the past few days. My daughter Kirstey was home sick Thursday & Friday plus all the antics both of my teenaged daughters tried to pull this week! Man, I think I will be totally gray by the time they are grown!

I did really good with my diet & exercise plan this week despite being upset most of the week! I got on the elliptical machine every day Mon-Friday! I am up to 20 to 30 minutes a session now. I am still drinking the nasty water (I hate water) and doing pretty well on my diet! I bought myself some sugar-free pudding for the sweet fix! Now, I won’t eat these everyday but they are here incase I HAVE to have something sweet!

I will weigh in next week. I want to wait for two full weeks - through my whole induction phase of the low-carb diet. Hopefully the number will be lower. With having PCOS, I problably won’t loose weight at a big rate- but any amount is an accomplishment!

Remember, we are all in this together! We all have to same goals- to lose weight & get healthier! And If I can do it, ANYONE can! Good Luck this week everyone!

I Did It!

Well, I actually did it! I got in two fifteen-minute sessions on the elliptical machine today! I also got in my 60 oz + some of water! GO ME! I feel so good about today!

For Dinner tonight I had a treat- cube steak fried without breading and collard greens. I made a kick-azz sauce for the cube steak using the drippings from frying the steak, portabella mushroom slices, sauteed onions, worchestershire sauce, heavy cream & butter. It was yummy over the cube-steak & low-carb to boot! To spice up the collards (I am a Southern girl after all) I added some hot sauce & olive oil and sauteed them til tender. Summer ate half of them so they must’ve been good!

One lesson I learned tonight, do  NOT get on the elliptical machine within an hour after eating! It made me so nauseous!

Tommorrow I will just get the second session in BEFORE dinner! LOL

I hope everyone else had a good day! And remember, you have to take care of yourself first- then you have more energy to give to others! You can Do it!

Getting Serious!

Well, today is the TIME TO GET SERIOUS day! I have been good about the diet part so far- even with my  Hubby Jeff being sneaky to sabbotage me (bringing home candt & french fries), I have managed to pretty much stick to low-carb. Now it is time to kick in the exercise!

So, starting today I am going to get in 20 minutes of aerobic exercise 5 days a week! I don’t care if I get it in all in one session of if I split it up into two 10 minute sessions per day. The plan for today is to jump on the elliptical! Tommorrow it will be dance!

Also, today I will be filling a bottle with water & trying to get in at least 60 ounces. That will be a feat for me since I drink like NO water (I detest the taste) but, I’ve got to wean myself off of diet sodas, the sodium isn’t good for the edema I have in my legs!

So, everyone, if you see me slipping- GIVE ME A BIG KICK IN THE REAR! LOL, sometimes I need it LOL

Remember you ARE worth all effort to reach where you want to be! Together- we can do it!

UPDATE: I just got off of the elliptical machine! I did 15 minutes instead of 10! And, I have my water bottle in front of me right now! Now to go figure out what I want for breakfast- not loving eggs right now.

I FEEL SO GOOD! I can’t believe I did 15 minutes instead of 10! WOOHOOOOOOO- GO ME!

Feeling Great Today!

Well,

After drinking a bottle of Chardonnay and getting a full-nights sleep I woke up this morning feeling 100% better! I know, I know…. drinking the wine isn’t the best thing for my diet but….it is my one guilty pleasure I allow myself- 2 bottles a week. And, chardonnay IS low-carb! LOL

I woke up to ham & eggs for brunch (I didn’t get up until 11 am) and diet Mt. Dew. So far- the diet part hasn’t been the big challenge- it has been getting my big arse off the couch & moving LOL.

Monday I will start 20 minutes a day of aerobics. I will either get on the elliptical machine or do aerobic dance (which is a FAVORITE of mine). That is how I lost weight before- I would pop in a CD with some great, upbeat music (Will Smith was a favorite) and danced for 30 to 45 minutes! I dropped 70 lbs in less than a year that way before! And after I lose down to 150 lbs. I will start belly-dancing to firm up my abs! I want to get a nice flat stomach this time (which may be impossible after 5 children, 4 of which were c-sections) but belly dancing is GREAT for the abs PLUS it teaches some wickedly sexy dance moves to impress the Hubby!

Thats the plan for now! LOL

Beginning Again

Well, here I am, starting this path again. Hoping this time to get it right and to make it permanent! After loosing from a size 16 to a size 5 a few years ago and keeping it off for a few years, the weight slowly came back on and I am back where I started- not a good feeling!

Last time I used slim-fast, excessive exercise & strong diet pills to do the trick. Now I cannot get those diet pills (ephedra) and even though I have an elliptical machine sitting in my bedroom, I haven’t been on it in months. And now, after developing PCOS, the doctor wants me to use a low-carb diet to not only loose weight but to prevent or slow-down diabetes. Staying on low-carb is SO hard for me! I cook daily for the whole family and my Hubby is a meat & potaoes & bread type of guy! And he likes things from scratch- not store bought! But I know that it is best for me to follow the doctor’s advice. I just have to find a way to cook what they love and not taste it during cooking LOL!

And I have to find the modivation to get back on the elliptical machine! I’ll take it one day at a time and not be too hard on myself. I hope to get it right this time around ;o)

And THANKS APRIL for directing me to BuddySlim!
